Suzuki Hayabusa: The King
The
Suzuki Hayabusa has been king of the road since it's emergence in 1999.
Massive amounts of horsepower and torque have led to an abundance of Busas
on the road. Everybody wants to be King.
This is about a customer that drove over 2˝ hours (one way) to a land far
away, just to get the magical touch of the wizards at Bikes 2 NV.
The owner didn't want a wild, one-off, over the top theme. So in keeping
with the factory look theme, House of Colors provided a blue and silver and
just the right amount of rainbow mini-flake to make the paint pop in the
full sunlight. Take note of the matching side dash panels that keep the
color flowing from top to bottom.
Next,
we added a set of custom chrome wheels, with matching wave brake rotors with
chrome carriers. Finally we mounted on a set of sticky Metzeler tires for
serious grip. Then we replaced the stock windscreen with a chrome unit and
accented it with a chrome dash cover, chrome gas cap cover, chrome ignition
and tank tab covers, chrome top triple tree, custom chrome wave levers and
frame sliders, chrome Iso grips, chrome clutch and brake master cylinder
covers, and a beautiful set of show chrome tear drop mirrors. Then we turned
our attention to the chassis. The stock painted foot pegs and brackets were
replaced with brilliant chrome units. The swingarm was chromed and matched
to a set of chrome bolt in extensions,
and the frame received a healthy dose of shine. Even the side stand shines
like a mirror. To finish, we matched a set of chrome and LED front turn
signals to the color matched LED undertail.

We never overlook performance, even on a beast like The Hayabusa. We
contacted Muzzy for one of their sidewinder exhaust systems. The system
looked nice. However, nice wouldn't cut it in our case. Several hours of
polishing later, the Muzzy was shining like white gold. She exhales nicely
through the the sidewinder, and the high flow air filter makes deep
breathing a snap. The fuel is monitored with a Dynojet Power Commander with
a custom built Bikes 2 NV map. An Ivan's TRE eliminates the factory 186mph
top speed limiter. The swingarm extensions and a lowered stance front and
rear, help to keep the front tire earth bound.
Finally,
The King needed a throne. We turned our attention to the seats. Only the
best would do for this build and we pulled out all the stops. The King and
Queen needed to be comfortable while riding across their kingdom. So, we
built two new seats from the pan up. We installed thick gel pads in each
seat and covered them with exotic stingray pelts. From the depths of the
sea, to the streets of your city: Stingray makes a statement. For good
measure, The Queen has a set of chrome “pistol grip” grab rails for when
this rocket ship hits warp speed.
It's good to be The King.
